CNIEA Ontario Chapter event , December 10th, 2016

CNIEA Ontario Chapter held the last event of 2016 on Saturday, December 10th, 2016 at South Common Community Centre in Mississauga.

The event focused on the professional Resume prepared and presented by CNIEA’s president Mr. Hiam Al Sabery, P.Eng. with the coordination and contribution of Mrs. Wejdan Ismail (P. Eng.).

The subject of the event was requested by “Corporation for Good” WhatsApp group.  

Mr. Hiam started his presentation addressing how the resume is a very important marketing tool for the applicants to getting the interview. The presentation took two hours and included the following slides main titles:

-         YOUR SKILLS, TALENTS AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

-        STYLE OF THE RESUME

-        CONTENT OF HIGHLIGHTS OF QUALIFICATION

-        DEVELOPING YOUR SKILLS LANGUAGE

-        EFFECTIVE RESUME WRITING STRATEGY

-        CHOOSING THE RIGHT RÉSUMÉ FORMAT

-        CREATING A PROFESSIONAL IMAGE

-        POWER WORDING

-        RÉSUME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Mr. Hiam explained the slides and answered the questions with the contribution of the attendances. Different types and samples of resumes were shown.  

At the end of the presentation, the attendances were distributed for groups according to the disciplines and many resumes were reviewed by volunteer’s mentors.

Ontario Chapter - October 29 Event

CNIEA Ontario Chapter held the second event of this month in

October 29th at Clarkson Community Centre in Mississauga.

Dr. Chaitanya Baliga started his presentation about Quality Management Standards

around 11:00 am. The presentation attempts to relate perception of visual spectrum

and colour mixing as an analogy to perceive and differentiate between Leadership

and Management concepts within Quality Management System.

      At the beginning of presentation Dr. Chaitanya engaged the attendees in an

exercise and they had to provide their answers at the end of the presentation.

     Also, we’ve discussed about the principles of the ISO standards, Lean Six

Sigma and Change Management.

    As usual in every event, we had our delicious Iraqi breakfast with chatting and

networking between CNIEA’s members and guests.

    End of the presentation, CNIEA awarded the guest Dr. Chaitanya with a simple

prize to show our appreciation. Thank you, Dr. C. Baliga for the beneficial

presentation, thank you for your time and effort. Thank you to CNIEA exciting and

new members, for attending our event. Hope to see you in our next events.

CNIEA Ontario chapter held their first event on October of this year 2016 at the South Common Community Center in Mississauga.  The agenda for the event included presentations regarding,

- Paths to Licensure IAP or BEFA.

- Internship in Architecture Program (IAP)

- CACB Canadian Architectural Certification Board

- IAP Internship in Architecture Program,

                 -  Experience, Internationally Trained Professionals (ITPs)

                  -  Examination for Architects in Canada (ExAC) and Architect Registration Examinations (ARE)

- Practicing Architecture

                 - A Certificate of Practice

- Professional Liability Insurance

- An Architect’s Seal

As usual networking and light refreshments were part of the agenda that day.

Lashmi Ollivierre started the presentation addressing the international trained architects and the IAP and the Kim Wary completed the second part addressing the practicing architecture as an architect in Ontario.
